MONTHLY WORKSHOPS
Live every third Wednesday. Open to all. Included with membership or available individually.
Every month, we gather in community to listen, reflect, and learn alongside Indigenous mentors, Elders, and guest speakers.

These workshops are not just events. They are shared spaces of practice—where cultural safety, humility, and truth-telling take root. Together, we explore the lived realities of colonization, deepen our understanding of Indigenous knowledge systems, and consider what accountability looks like in our lives and work.

Whether you're joining for the first time or returning to continue your journey, you're welcome here.

Workshops Grounded in Relationship, Reflection, and Responsibility
Each month, we gather online to learn in community with Indigenous mentors, Elders, and guest speakers. These sessions are shaped by story, lived experience, and teachings that invite us to reflect, take responsibility, and unlearn colonial patterns in both our personal and professional lives.

Workshops are not passive learning. They are spaces of shared practice—where cultural safety, truth-telling, and relational accountability come to the forefront. You may encounter stories that challenge you, questions that sit with you for days, or moments of clarity that shift the way you show up.

This is learning rooted in care. The kind that continues after the call ends.

WHAT'S COMING UP
The So-Called 'Child Welfare' Industry in Canada
Date: November 19, 2025
Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM PDT
Featuring Melissa Ridgen

Canada’s historical treatment of First Nations, Inuit and Métis is widely known and understood, largely attributed to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s work culminating with its 94 Calls to Action published in 2015. But while residential schools have closed, many don’t understand that the same destructive principals are core to systems that operate today, specifically the so-called ‘child welfare’ industry. Fifty-four percent of kids in ‘care’ in Canada are Indigenous despite making up less than 8% of Canada’s population. Billions of dollars a year are spent across Canada to remove children from their homes and shuffle them throughout a system that employs tens of thousands of Canadians, from front line case workers to administrative staff to directors, foster parents, large children’s advocate offices, group home workers, policy analysts, deputy ministers and ministers, lawyers and judges, just to name a few. Even a $40-billion settlement against Canada in 2022 for inflicting this system on First Nations children, didn’t stop the industry in its tracks in fact, the number of kids being apprehended and churned through the system, continues to grow in many provinces and territories. Ridgen will share some of what she’s learned in more than a decade investigating this industry
